Twitter CEO addresses employees concerned by Elon Musk's hostile takeover bid

Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal is trying to allay employees' fears in the wake of Elon Musk's $43 billion hostile takeover attempt of the social media company.

In a survey staff meeting on Thursday, Agarwal said that Twitter's board is considering Marx's offer and will act in the best interest of his company's shareholders, according to two employees present.

Then an employee suggested that Mux's aggressive takeover bid felt like a hostage situation. Agarwal dismissed the notion.

According to the staff I don't think we are being held hostage

Many were left disappointed after the meeting, saying they felt they were being left in the dark about what was really going on.

Motive-owned Twitter represents a nightmare scenario for some, given Mux's long history as a steady business leader.

A Twitter employee, requesting anonymity, said the culture here and this platform deserves to be protected and I hope the board will act bravely and turn down the offer.

Our democracy is more important than pay this employee said I hope the board agrees

But this Twitter worker said: "There doesn't seem to be much we can do as employees," said this person.
