Kenny Pickett Caps Steelers Debut With Last-Second, Game-Winning Touchdown

The Pittsburgh Steelers defended all three quarterbacks as their first-round rookie won Game 1 by defeating the Seattle Seahawks 32-25. The Steelers won the toss and decided to pass the ball into the hands of a new quarterback. It didn’t take long for Mitch Trubisky to lead the team to a touchdown, completing 47 yards 3/5 from 55 yards.

The Steelers replaced the quarterback and with five minutes left Mason switched on Rudolph. After Stephen Simms’ 38 yard hit on his return, Rudolph’s first game was sackling his left wing.

His second pass was a 26-yard touchdown by George Pickens. Seahawks used their game pass to push the ball 57 yards in eight games and hit the net from 33 yards. In his next run in Pittsburgh, he dashed 81 yards but stopped at 11 yards for a field goal. In possession of the next ball, Seattle went deep into their opponent’s territory.

Travis Homer continued to attack Steeler’s defense and Smith finished the two-minute drill with a two-yard touchdown. Seahawks scored extra points with a touchdown.
