Dave Chappelle Comedy Show Dropped by Minneapolis Venue After Criticism

Dave Chapelle’s scheduled appearance on First Avenue in Minneapolis on Wednesday is no longer taking place, and the club’s team issued an apology after coping with backlash over the comedian’s placement.

Hours before the show, a statement was released on the First Avenue Instagram account announcing that Chappelle’s performance would be held at the University Theater in Minneapolis. Do two sets on Thursday and Friday. First Avenue’s apology meant an outright criticism of the Chapelle booking site, and it was controversial in a Netflix special as a joke about the transgender community.
